While I was looking for a present, I happened to see my smiling face in the mirror and it warmed my heart, making me think that this year would be a good end to the year.

Time to accelerate faster than usual. In Japan, December is also called "Shiwasu," which means that even teachers who are usually calm and collected are busy running around during this season.

December in Japan is an interesting mix of Japanese and Western customs. In a way, this is also a very Japanese thing.

It's been a year and five months since I created this account. Last month I experimented with posting frequently. This month will be busy, so the posting frequency will be somewhat slower. As the end of the year approaches, things have gradually become busier.This may be the same for everyone... I feel relieved when the weekend arrives.

Rocked by the train on the way home, I spend my time imagining a world where all life glows with happiness.

I linger for a while amidst the nostalgic scenery. There, faint traces of my younger self and my grandparents, who are no longer with us, can be glimpsed. Quiet love and solid roots.

Surrounded by the beautiful colours of autumn leaves, savouring the scent of fallen leaves. My favourite moment.

Today I plan to visit a place of fond memories with my family. It's only a day trip, but it should be a pleasant journey through time. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

By chance, I went to Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi in the morning. I didn't have time to take a photo of the entire building, but here is a photo of the entrance and the lion statue. The lion statue at the entrance is the symbol of Mitsukoshi and was cast based on the lion in Trafalgar Square in London. Currently, a pop-up event celebrating the 145th anniversary of the Steiff stuffed toy company is being held in the central hall on the first floor. A truly elegant old-fashioned department store.

Today, in keeping with the theme of shopping, I thought I'd post some retro posters from Japanese department stores. Today is Black Friday, isn't it? It's become quite established in Japan too. I intend to buy some daily necessities and clothes on this occasion. Since I usually live frugally, it's all right to treat myself occasionally.

And on days like this, I shall light my favourite scented incense. My favorite is traditional Japanese incense, which has an elegant scent similar to face powder.

A day for doing only what you like. Today is a substitute holiday, so I'll be taking it easy.

Today is Labour Thanksgiving Day, one of Japan's national holidays. The origins of this day date back to the Niiname-sai, a festival in which the Emperor gave thanks for the year's harvest. As a result of this tradition, the day is widely recognized as a day to give thanks not only for agricultural crops, but for all products and daily labor.

When I think of the elegance of Japanese aesthetics, I am transported back to the story of its long history.

Not for someone else, but for myself. By fulfilling oneself, one consequently fulfils others too.

They say fashions and eras come round periodically, but this is happening within me too.

Many of the phenomena that pique my curiosity have some connection to my childhood memories.

What is as precious as a treasure to me? It is not measured by standards such as high cost or rarity.

I still love that analog feel. Touch it with your hands, read it, set it and press the button... There is a richness there that goes beyond modern technology.

Back then, I really enjoyed listening to and buying various CDs at import record stores. Nowadays, with the advancement of digitalization, that kind of enjoyment has decreased considerably.

As a teenager, I loved to daydream in a beautiful world of sound. My father loved audio equipment and other machines, and I still treasure the opportunities he gave me to experience them.

While I was cleaning up, I came across a bunch of CDs that I had collected when I was younger. a little time capsule.
