this is significant because, generally, fuel cells are on the cusp of becoming mainstream within the next decade or so. in this case, the solid oxide fuel cell is made via 3D printing with a mathematically optimized geometry to maximize surface area (of the cathode/anode). SOFCs can run on a couple of fuel to produce electricity, from hydrogen to biogas. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/3d-printed-fuel-cells-could-reshape-sustainable-aerospace-applications/ar-AA1N0wdw How do SOFCs work? > https://www.stanfordmaterials.com/blog/what-are-solid-oxide-fuel-cells.html and with a SOFC equipped electric vehicle (EV), you then have better range, F1 pitstop refuel times, and lighter vehicle mass (your tires will last longer, still dependent on driving styles, but you get the idea...) here's one company that is making SOFC a potentially compelling proposition > #hydrogen #energy #ev
