I've never really bothered to look into it. Never used a VPN, the school laptops had one which we all knew at the time was spying on us. I've used tor to access onion sites, then logged into Facebook. So I'm probably not very smart. Because that was before most of the brain damage from abusing alcohol.
But I remembered hearing that some VPNs were trending in the app/play store from UK users downloading them in response to the age restrictions and it took this video for it to click 💡 in my mind.

Took you this long to draw this conclusion? How gullible people are? If you don’t control it, assume you are being watched. It’s so much easier to get into people’s phones when you get to install a profile or two, and plus a central place to spy without warrant or anything 😂

It's hard for Australians.
Our internet is garbage.
The previous government ruined our infrastructure.
Dug up all the copper wires, replaced them with new, uninsulated copper wires.
The intention being to waste our money, handing it all to Rio Tinto and Gina Rinehart and whoever else.
So we went from some of the best internet a decade ago, to one of the worst.
I can not afford to run a node yet.
I need to get starlink because Australian internet is unaffordable and unreliable

After watching this video, it reinforced my conviction that we absolutely must support merchants who accept Lightning and BTC and bypass centralized payment processors. It can be inconvenient and at times feel more expensive, but fighting for your freedom and future is never easy or cheap. As much as I’d love to broaden the payment options, it is hard to do so without helping these tyrants to get more power and control over our choices. Fuck Visa/Master cabal of control freaks.

Sure if someone already bought one, but if you ignore everything that's wrong with them; overpriced, planned obsolescence, low range, 12 cameras that Livestream 24/7, all the stupid shit that wastes battery like electric windows and seats and unnecessary gadgets, how dangerous they are compared to any other electric car on the market etc. The fact that Elon Musk is profiting is alone a good enough reason to not to buy one.
