Sure. It’s chicken and egg problem. I don’t have good solution and I also don’t judge people, just observe what I see. I think we don’t encourage each other to spend enough though…

People don’t get paid in bitcoin so it’s an extra obstacle to buy and replace, especially if you are not using KYC exchanges. Can’t blame them. For me it’s especially difficult to get sats and practically nowhere to spend them.

Bitcoiners do not spend enough bitcoin and that hurts the whole ecosystem (except exchanges and hardware wallet companies)

Seems like the number of times someone attached garbage would be smaller over all and removing the filter would just do the opposite. Why cater to those people because abuse is possible…
⬆
saunter 5/1 22:05:30 πŸ’•
In short: people will attach stuff to bitcoin and we there is NO WAY for us to stop it. They can do it in many different ways, and some of them are more harmful. Using OP_RETURN for this purpose is less harmful for the network and noderunners than other methods, because it does not bloat UTXO set and has no validation cost. But OP_RETURN has a limit which is too low for some of those protocols, so they need to use less efficient methods that increase the cost for everyone and do more harm. Hence the idea to relax or remove the limit, to incentivise them to use less harmful method

No, and I discourage listening to podcast on this topic with someone who never worked on bitcoin core. Here's good summary: https://x.com/stevenroose3/status/1917554986826846703 Everything else are emotionally fueled strawman

Pretty fucking wild. New evidence suggests our universe was born in a black hole in another universe, and that existing black holes could create universes. Not only our universe could have a "parent", but it also has "universe children" with its own black holes https://www.space.com/space-exploration/james-webb-space-telescope/is-our-universe-trapped-inside-a-black-hole-this-james-webb-space-telescope-discovery-might-blow-your-mind?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAR1-NM5wY-r4AoNUd6AdCHrDPc6ZnKFri_LMjq0ZcG2OzuDCpYynqKHP1gQ_aem_kJDFVDTxpySle3BT9EablQ#qm31bledfmz6ml3uc2d8hsxbm3aunzd

The guy in the video I linked makes that connection. Maybe not seriously but says they are remarkably similar.

I am personally very wary of trying to bring quantum to psychology/spirituality. There’s too much woo in that and most who do this don’t understand physics at all and just do some simple connections because some of the vocabulary/metaphors used in quantum seem similar to those from religions. The leap is just too great and I’ve never seen a serious, deep and successful attempt to do this. But I also don’t feel a need to find this connection

Karnage 2/23 17:48:07 πŸ’•
At a quick glance this seems very much in line with various aspects of quantum mechanics.

I don’t think so. I really liked this book, but might be a bit dense for a first touch with Buddhism literature, its academic https://wisdomexperience.org/product/the-theravada-abhidhamma/

Cool I’ll have to look into it. Any place in particular I should start? Does it delve into quantum physics at all?

Some of religion is actually based in physics and math. Hinduism for example has the concept of Veda (knowledge) teachings that delve into sound resonance and the tuning of the mind to nature. This is actually based in physics - the resonance of microtubules in neurons. There is a quantum component to all of it which is super fascinating. I am currently down this rabbit hole so I don’t know much and probably sound like an idiot trying to describe it.

physics, mathematics, chaos, assembly, complexity take up so much of my awe and wonder , by the time religion and spirituality come around i am just *meh*

I don't understand why so many bitcoiners are averse to actual using it as...you know...money! 😜 Just spend and replace. Be a net accumulator and use it as a medium of exchange. That's the only way we get adoption. Not by everyone HODLing.

An idea! Have a merchant accept fiat as usual, but offer change in BTC sats via lightning. Will this work? How prevalent usage of cash is? Or maybe debit card usage with BTC back at the register? So many questions! πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” nostr:note13muxg2qx3mta86g96hr9jft6j3p5z80xl5xm80yccujcrv9zadlqdtmypz
