This afternoon, our tour of Alsace continued with a visit to Riquewihr, a stunning village nestled among vineyards, a blend of history and a Christmas market. The typical half-timbered houses, painted in a riot of colors and adorned with Christmas decorations, truly create a unique atmosphere. #alsace #france #christmas #visit #travel #tourism

Almost live, the end-of-day walk with Vasco 🐾😁 With a view of Cupabia Bay, numerous boats are anchored and the Capannella Tower, where generations of watchmen have watched the coast to prevent attacks from the sea. #corsica #panorama #visit #dogstr #dogsofnostr

GM, I'm continuing to show you around my region 🏝️😁 Today I'm introducing you to the Capu Di Muro tower. It was built to warn of approaching enemies by sea . Long before the internet or even electricity, it was important to be able to communicate quickly over long distances, especially when it came to self-protection. Towers were therefore built around the island of Corsica so that each tower was visible from the previous one. When a hostile ship was spotted approaching, a fire was lit, and the signal could then travel from one tower to another at the speed of light πŸ”₯ The medieval ancestor of the Lightning Network ⚑🀣 Today, some towers are still in very good condition and can be visited, while others have been completely destroyed. The Capu Di Muru tower has survived the centuries intact. Unfortunately, struck by lightning a few years ago, it is currently closed to the public pending repairs. #corsica #visit #discovery #travel
