Good morning Nostr from Cala d'Orzu #beach in #Corsica.
A magical place, sadly infamous after the fire at the "Chez Francis" restaurant, ordered by the french government and set on fire by the french army (gendarmerie) in 1999.
Since then, the place has become a little #paradise again, and the rebuilt restaurant is frequented all summer by locals and tourists alike.
The beach is one of the most beautiful south of #Ajaccio.

Good evening Nostr π
A brief #drone flight over a magnificent place with sad origins.
This is the Coti-Chiavari dam, built by prisoners from the penitentiary at the end of the 19th century.
This reservoir was used to irrigate various crops.
Today, you can stroll around it and enjoy the view of the Gulf of #Ajaccio.

The Isolella peninsula, in the Gulf of #Ajaccio in southern #Corsica.
A rather heavenly place, especially in #spring before the start of the #summer season.

Good Morning βοΈπ
A photo taken last evening of a boat entering the Gulf of #Ajaccio, passing the Sanguinaires Islands π€©π
On board, there will undoubtedly be many tourists who will come to discover #Corsica.
This is usually the busiest time of year. It's supposed to calm down a bit after August 15th, and then in September, with the return of schools, families are replaced by retirees.
We'll have to wait until October to find a wild and less touristy #island.

#history
In 1793, one of the most famous Corsicans in the world, #Napoleon Bonaparte, was forced to flee his hometown of #Ajaccio, driven out by Pascal Paoli's supporters.
It was from this tower (filmed this winter) that he set sail with his fleet.
The Capitello Tower, located in Porticcio at the very end of the Gulf of Ajaccio.
He stopped at Capu Di Muru to pick up some members of his family, then returned to Calvi for a few weeks before leaving #Corsica for good to continue his military and political career.
