One year ago, back to September 2024 🤩 Roccapina #beach famous for its lion 🦁 It is one of the essential beaches of South #Corsica for foreign visitors. Accessible by an earth track, #hiking trails and of course by #sea, it remains very frequented except winter when it becomes a wild place 🏝️ The particularly fine and white sand gives incredible colors to the #Mediterranean Sea 💙

GM ☀️😁 Very early this morning we had heavy thunderstorms and a lot of rain ⛈️. It's impressive, as yesterday we were on the beach as if it were the middle of summer ⛱️, and today feels like an autumn day 🍂. We'll see tomorrow what season #Corsica will wake up to. A magical place, sadly infamous after the fire at the "Chez Francis" restaurant, ordered by the french government and set on fire by the french army (gendarmerie) in 1999. Since then, the place has become a little #paradise again, and the rebuilt restaurant is frequented all summer by locals and tourists alike. The beach is one of the most beautiful south of #Ajaccio.

Today, I've chosen to present the work of Jean Rubini, a cutler who gave a #blacksmithing demonstration. The old-fashioned way: coal, anvil, and hammer. In addition to his demonstration, he exhibited his Corsican knives, folding shepherd's knives and some fixed #knives. The handles are made of goat horn, buck horn, or various Corsican wood species, such as olive, chestnut, or juniper. #history In 1793, one of the most famous Corsicans in the world, #Napoleon Bonaparte, was forced to flee his hometown of #Ajaccio, driven out by Pascal Paoli's supporters. It was from this tower (filmed this winter) that he set sail with his fleet. The Capitello Tower, located in Porticcio at the very end of the Gulf of Ajaccio.
