With the right instruction, itโs not hard to learn at all. It just takes feel and practice. There are other tools (gun keys, bump keys, etc.) that can make picking easier, but many of them are noisier. For a lot of locks, all you really need is the know-how, practice, and a couple of paperclips or a bit of a coke can.

GrapheneOS is finally ready to break free from Pixels, and it may never look back
https://www.androidauthority.com/graphene-os-major-android-oem-partnership-3606853/
TL;DR
The makers of GrapheneOS have confirmed they are partnering with a major Android OEM to bring the privacy-focused Android fork to Snapdragon-powered smartphones.
The project has confirmed itโs bringing support for Pixel 10, but is unsure whether support will continue for Pixel 11.
GrapheneOS didnโt reveal the name of its new partner, but said that those devices will be priced in the same range as Pixels.
---
Saw this coming. It would have been nice to see more transparency and less "everything is fine, we've got it covered" when I engaged with them about the recent Google updates just two months ago. The technical realities I was asking about clearly pointed here, and the dismissive responses didn't inspire confidence.
nostr:nevent1qqsrnwcn5nlhs00nycrtvjf2d7g0qcudua6l3x47yr38tzparffuvxsprdmhxue69uhhyetvv9ujumn0wd68yurvv438xtnrdakj7q3qf6ugxyxkknket3kkdgu4k0fu74vmshawermkj8d06sz6jts9t4ksxpqqqqqqz68manv
Either way, this kind of partnership was supposed to happen years ago before that deal fell through. Let's hope all those who recently bought Pixels specifically to run GrapheneOS will get the years of updates they expected before needing to migrate to this new device.
I stopped using GOS as a primary device months agoโit was a pain getting my data off, and Google's Play Integrity API is making it harder for apps to install on custom ROMs.
I still recommend them to most people for secondary devices. The privacy fundamentals are solid, but GrapheneOS has always relied on Pixel's superior hardware security (Titan M2, verified boot, etc.).
Finding an OEM partner with comparable hardware security has been a bottleneck all along. I'm genuinely interested to see what they come up with.

Filtering yes, search, no. And a ton of attitude about implementing it. For context, I currently pay Nostr build $56 a year (90,000 sats) for 20 GB storage. You can't even search by filename.

It's the wrong tone. I'm actively looking for an alternative and nostrmedia is shaping up to be an awesome alternative that basically implemented search after reading my back and forth with FC in a day.
Listening to customer FB is important if you value the future of the service you are trying to get Content creators to pay premium for.
FC can check the "If/when I do it, it'll be a pain and on my own terms and it'll cost more money than you're already paying a premium for, so it'll happen when/if it happens" at the door.
I like FC and I have been a big supporter of NB, and have sent many customers their way, but when a dev starts talking like that, I'm out.

It will drive the costs significantly higher, and it will likely reflect in the account pricing. Infrastructure costs along (excluding maintenance and R&D, and implementation) will be on the 250K sats per month for search alone. So, as I said (so there are reasonable expectations) if/when I make data plane right and find an optimal way to index (media is not text), injest and maintain it, weโll have it.
โฌ
ava

I hear you, but I respectfully disagree. When paying for media hosting, search capability is a baseline expectation.
...Especially so for those who pay, or would pay, 69,000 sats/year for Pro, or 86,358 sats a year for Creator tiers.
It makes sense. And you can list it as another benefit to using your premium service.
Looking forward to it.

๐
My views align with PG and modern security standards regarding obtaining apps from F-Droid. I don't recommend getting apps from F-Droid unless it's the only option.
If F-Droid must be used, F-Droid Basic is the preferred choice. F-Droid Basic supports automatic background updates without privileged extension or root and has a reduced feature set, limiting the attack surface.
Third-party F-Droid clients can have numerous issues, such as lacking proper mirroring support. For this reason, I recommend avoiding Neo Store and no longer suggest using any third-party clients for F-Droid repositories.
